A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his initial championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

His defensive approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to force a final set.

He rescued four initial break points in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
